If you have dreamed of experiencing the great monuments of France's Midi and exploring the lavender-flanked byroads of sunny Provence, our rental houses at Veaux may be perfect for you. Tucked away amidst fields, vineyards, and orchards in a hidden valley carved by a sparkling little river and reached only by narrow, winding country roads, this tiny hamlet affords two tile-roofed, beam-ceilinged rental houses, decorated in simple but charming country style, including antiques. Neither luxury palaces nor intended for the seeker of cities and Ritz-style convenience, these house-keeping dwellings appeal especially to those who cherish rural simplicity and country calm. Equipped with kitchen facilities and all linen (unlike typical French rentals), these eighteenth-century buildings offer a haven that allows you to avoid the expenses of hotel-and-restaurant living, a home away from home from which to descend to the river to wade, to take leisurely evening walks, to emerge for the street markets or cultural events in surrounding towns, and to leave for all-day excursions to famous places like Orange, Avignon, Pont-du-Gard, Nimes, Les Baux, Aix-en-Provence, and many other sites. Set in what we consider to be the most beautiful part of Provence, with rolling hills, picturesque villages, hilltop chateaux, stunning mountain scenery, and fine restaurants and wineries, Veaux is in the region of Mont Ventoux, Vaison-la-Romaine, and Carpentras. It lies 70 miles from Marseille's Marignanne Airport, 11 miles from Vaison, and 3 miles from stunning little Mollans, the nearest village purveying groceries. A restaurant operates seasonally in Veaux.

We offer two houses, both with upstairs views of the valley. The Maison Clement is three-story, with a kitchen/dining-room, a cozy sitting-room, two bedrooms each with a double bed, and two sleeping landings each with a single bed (sleeping a maximum of 6 people). There is also a shady courtyard and a forecourt. The Maison Bernard is two-story and has a spacious living/dining-room, a good-sized kitchen with washing-machine, and a large bedroom with twin beds. A charming small bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom open off the large bedroom, and there is a balcony off the latter as well (sleeping a maximum of 4 people). The Clement house is more suitable for larger and mixed groups, the Bernard for couples, small families, or close friends. For additional information on Veaux, the houses, and rates.
